ITunes offered a free SXSW sampler which you can download here so if you didn't get to go either we can get a little sampling of what the week had to offer. This includes The Civil Wars. Can I just say how proud I am of them? I remember when I found them they had just started and all they had was a youtube video of their first track "Falling" and they actually responded to my @ mention Tweets. Now I have to share them with Taylor Swift and thousands of others. Its bittersweet really but absolutely incredible how they have exploded in the last year. Selfishly I want to keep them to myself but I can't help but tell everyone I know how amazing their music is. You can download their live SXSW performance on iTunes here. My sister and I finally made it out to sxsw for the first time with some friends this weekend. It was so awesome, chaotic, but awesome! We saw The Almost and Bright Eyes play; really amazing shows! We were planning to also see The Civil Wars but just couldn't make it to any of their shows. It was fun though just to walk around and hear music everywhere you went. I definitely will be going again next year! :)
I have to say, I'm kind of obsessed with their music now thanks to you. Their voices and harmonies are SO BEAUTIFUL!

Okay, so, I am in love with The Civil Wars. I've been listening to a 20+ track cd non-stop in my car for the last several months and saw them live last month. I get married in 3 weeks and while I will certainly use their music during dinner at the reception, I'd love to use John Paul's instrumentals during the ceremony. Do you know of any instrumental artists with a similar sound?
